Wolves and Ticks and Cows OH MY

March 22, 2007

There are many things that goes along with having an animal as a totem.  this means you are in tune with the wolf for another animal. This means that often, the person who has a wolf totem shares characteristics and social habits with the wolf. This is exactly how it is for me.

There are two types of wolf behaviors, and with this, comes two types of totem. That of the pack wolf, and that of the loner. There is a large difference between the two.

The pack wolves live in a communal structure with a very strict heirarchy. There is a dominant pair, called the Alpha pair that leads the pack. These are the only wolves that breed within the pack. The others would not even think of it, but instead help with the raising of the pups produced by the alpha pairing. On the bottom of the hierarcyis the Omega wolf. This wolf is often bullied and is the one that must go without food when it is scarce. The Omega wolf is usually a loner that has just joined the pack.

Though the alpha male is the leader of the pack, that does not mean that it is a complete autocratic system. The alpha male often seeks wisdom from those in its pack, but this does not mean it is a democracy either. It is a delicate balance of the two.Having a wolf totem, this means that you must establish this harmony in your life to achieve the spiritual and true freedom. (I am very independent person and do not like to be told what to do, but am always open to suggestions)

Wolves of the pack are strong in the sense of community and are extremely loyal to those within the pack. Even moreso are the alpha pairing, as their loyalty, sense of community, and strength are what keeps the wolf pack alive. The wolf totem gives this to the human. They are loyal and their friendships are strong and they can survive the battles of time. (very loyal)

Communication is an important topic with wolves. Their language has a variety of sounds such as yips, yelps, whines, howls, growls, and barks. It is also one of posture, facial expression, and tail positions. Their howl is one of the most important. It carries overlarge distances and can be used to help locate pack members, establish the boundaries of its territory, as well as strengthen group unity. This sound often gives the haunting, chilling feeling to those humans listening. Those with the wolf totem find this soothing, and may even have the urge to howl back.(I love to hear a pack of wolves howl so much is better then flying in an aerobatic plane.  woo hooo, I feel it so deep inside me) Howling back, however, can be dangerous as the wolves will adapt to sound like the humans, and forget their own howls. Those with wolf totems are usually very expressive. This involves using your hands and posture to make yourself clearly understood. (I cannot go to auctions because if I talk then I raise the price lol because I use my hands) Though it takes time, this skill can be sharpened and this use of gestures can be more effective than those without the wolf totem. (communication is very important to me)

Wolves do not like to fight unless it is totally necessary. Often, the wolves will go out of their way to avoid fighting. Disagreements rarely end in fighting. Many times a look or low growl in warning is all that is needed to avoid conflict. In this way, those with wolf totem are also prone to avoid these confrontations, preferring peace to war. These people also do not feel the need to show their strength orabilities to those around them. Their confidence is enough. (I do not like to fight)

When it comes to hunting, the pack wolves have a complex hunting system, though it seems very simple. The pack members simply take turns chasing down their prey, so that their prey becomes weak and tired long before the wolves. This is very important as wolves do not have a long endurance when traveling at its higher speeds of 24-28 miles/hour.Even though the wolves are great predators, they do limit their prey to the sick, young, or ill. After catching their prey, they eat all parts of their prey, not leaving anything behind except the bones. Those that have the wolf totems also do not like waste. If they take something, they will use as much of it as they possibly can. If they are unsure of the use of something, they most likely will try to find out. (I do not like to waste at all and sometimes eat too much like a wolf; I have fed them quarter chicken is like one chomp to break bone then swallow, we need to learn how to chew more, lol)

Wolves have very strong senses of smell and hearing. This sense of smell helps the wolf greatly with hunting, or territorial duties. The wolf also has a thick coat which helps protect the wolf from both weather as well as its predators. This does not mean that those with the wolf totem has a strong sense of smell and hearing and are hairy.(have strong sense of smell and hearing and am hairy lol) It is a more metaphorical ability to listen to intuition and inner thoughts. Often, these intuitions are valid and correct. The fur of the wolf, or hair on the human, is associated with psychic abilities. This goes with the sense of intuition. By listening to ones inner thoughts and feelings, those of the wolf totem can sharpen their ability to listen to their spirit and be able to deal with the struggles that may come their way.

The loner wolf is one that lives outside of a pack. They do not have any territory, nor do they have other wolves to help them hunt. They must forage for what they can find, which usually includes small animals, or the carcasses left by other hunting animals. If found in the territory belonging to a pack of wolves, this wolf would usually be fought and often is killed as a result. Other times, if it manages to survive the fights, they will join the pack as the Omega wolf.

A wolf can be a loner for a couple different reasons. It could be born to another lone wolf or it could be chased off by their pack. This is usually done if they disobey the commands of the Alpha pairing, or they have some kind of deformity. Whether it is something as obvious as twisted legs that make it unable to keep up with the pack, or a difference of colouring. This wolf must learn to survive on its own.

What animal do you relate to in life???  For me it is the wolf.  Although am not native american these things have come to me in life.  If anyone believes in spirit guides then mine would have to be a white wolf.  He is large, very long hair and tall.Much bigger then real live ones I have saw.   green eyes.  but I still do not know his name,  is a male.   in time it will come.  I was first aware of him in 1997 when I saw his form in my living room.  http://www.myspace.com/lymediseaseawareness)    He has come to me in my dreams and I have seen him like he was real.

Because of him I have chased other white wolfsand ended up helping them hence the pictures on my profile.  the babies come from the dad Noah.  Noah belonged to client of mind with 7others.   Long story short,(whole story at this site   written sometime last year but do not recall exactly when and just put on this site in february so could save it somewhere.  http://www.helium.com/tm/158610/fairies-watch-animals-protect        I had very bad feeling called all over united states to get them help and finally called fish and wildlife.   they did take the babies left the adults there.  sigh, was a dead one found when someone went first time with hardly any hair left.  meaning was there for a while in with live wolves.  I cried all day about this.  then I called Shy wolf Sanctuary(http://www.shywolfsanctuary.com/) and they helped a lot.  they now have the babies that are not babies anymore, just in the pics I have.   I have met other neat people because of name white wolf and is where i got my tick at lol but i still love him my white wolf with no name.

Well my friend Betty has friend named white wolf and he did ceremonies at her property.  (I love Betty dearly she has done a lot to help the earth.  Battled long and hard one time for 10 years to stop waterway from being broke apart to electrichydroplant.  or something to that affect.   anyhow even though she loves the earth so much and fights for it  she will not listen to me about lyme disease   ( http://www.myspace.com/lymediseasesupport                                         and be tested and still has ceremonies there and 3 of us has come down with lyme.  is what I heard.  She does now tell them to use spray and look for ticks.  Which is better then nothing I suppose.   Her comment to this was I have had ticks on me all the time and I am fine.   Yet in December she was found driving wrong side of street they said was stroke.  Could be she is 87 however,  before this she had tummy problems and bladder acting up again and it was fine.   who knows, will keep trying to educate her and others.)  sorry sidetracked back to wolves........................

I for a while did not see my white wolf and it really bothered me.  a woman who thought she was a shaman told me he was gone from me.  I felt like part of me was gone and I mourned him. then one day I meditated and I saw him decayed into the ground almost but not yet dead in my minds eye.  I sat with this for awhile.................then decided that even though I perceived the wolf as male the white wolf was part of me and I felt like that image from this lyme disease.  almost dead but still a little alive.  when discovering this it made me so happy that I did not loose my white wolf because it is part of me.

Betty also asked that I would have help to get better as she is very caring .   So an intuitive she knew told her that the wolves that passed there were 3 in total at clients house, were with me and other ones to help me heal.   Well little did she know I was craving red meat so much steaks in particular (sorry vegetarians) that I one day was so hungry for it and drove past a cow field and looked hard at them cows lol.  I drove to get some steak to eat right away before chasing cows.  Well I laughed told Betty if she hears of me chasing cows and getting locked up she better call them wolf spirits off lol.   I am sure I was anemic at this point.

so please share with me what animal do you feel strongly bonded to and why??????????
